QUICK FACTS
Visit the PayPAMs page to discover the new on line system that will allow parents the opportunity to view their children's purchases, make on line deposits with the use of a credit card and receive advance notice to replenish your child's lunch accounts via e-mail.
The Food Service Program is pleased to announce the Healthy Choice Program at the Elementary Schools. We are creating an atmosphere of nutrition education to assist your children to make healthier choices. In our quest to develop the Healthy Choice Program, we are implementing the Snackwise Nutrition Rating System which was developed at the Columbus Children's Hospital's Borden Center for Nutrition & Wellness in Columbus, Ohio.
The Snackwise Nutrition Rating System evaluates the nutritional quality of foods, beverages, desserts and snacks. By inputting the following; calories, fat, saturated fat, protein, fiber, sugar, vitamins A & C, calcium and iron, the program determines a color rating. The easy to understand color-coded system rates food products as; Green - Best Choice, Yellow - Choose Occasionally, Red - Choose Rarely.
The Food Service Program, in collaboration with the schools is committed to making the school environment a place that supports healthy eating through the education of smarter choices.
